Meet Jenni

When I was a child, I loved spending time in a backyard cherry tree. It had a branch that had grown shaped like a seat, so I was secure while letting the tree hold me. I often did nothing but look around and dream. Sometimes I climbed up with a book and cocooned under the canopy for hours, or used the backyard to run, jump, flip, and - best of all – cartwheel!

As I grew older, I kept reading but stopped moving my body with such joy. In my mid- thirties, my inflexible hips prevented me from using the stairs properly. It was then I knew I needed yoga!  I started in my local gym a couple times each week, and soon noticed that a gradual increase in flexibility accompanied other positive changes in my life. I reconnected to my interest in meditation, which previously frustrated me because I could never find a comfortable seat.  It was fun to move with more grace and confidence.  Moods stabilized and choices became easier.

Now, I teach yoga and meditation full-time. I do my best to make concepts and practices simple and helpful. Through discoveries, injuries, set-backs, and epiphanies, I’ve remained passionate about facilitating communities around a cycle of learning, healing and sharing. My classes, workshops and retreats are rooted in curiosity and kindness. I pass on the wisdom that yoga is not just something done on a mat, but a way of being in the world.

Devotion and gratitude to the most influential of my many teachers over the years – Rolf Gates, Lori Gaspar, Shamash Alidina, Jim Bennitt, James Tennant, and Bernie Clark.  I have completed trainings in Vinyasa, Yin, restorative, meditation, Yoga for Strength and Stability®, trauma, Tantra, and Ayurveda. I intend for classes to be physically and mentally challenging but emotionally restful, leaving students in playful communion with the world.

My personal life is rich with books and tea, good food shared with my adorable husband, two antic-prone calicos, Star Wars, an art practice that has carried me away, and travel whenever possible. It’s been some time since I climbed a tree, but I still love cartwheels!
